How does it work?
Once you sign up and become a Couee, and your Safe People have accepted their role (see below), you will begin to receive two Coucous a day.
Every morning you will receive your Morning Coucou notification, and one click of a button tells us you are alive for the day. You pre-set the time for this Morning Coucou, and there are two reminders sent to you in one hour intervals if you do not respond. Thirty minutes after the last reminder is ignored, your safe people will be notified.
Every afternoon (again, you pre-set the time) you will receive your Afternoon Coucou notification with a selection of moods and the mood selected will determine if you need some support that day or not.

Who should I select as Safe People?
These are the people who will be responsible to reach out to you when the need arises (see below). Safe People can only be selected from the Contacts on your phone. These are preferably family, friends, teachers, counsellors, therapists, carers, etc.
A user (a Couee) requires a minimum of 3 safe people before the service will commence. For users 14 - 17 years of age, at least one of your Safe People must be over 18 years of age.
It is advisable to select someone who is active on their mobile phone as this is how they will be alerted for assistance. It is ideal that they are calm in times of trouble, are patient and understanding.
When you nominate a safe person, they will be sent a text explaining what the role is and they will need to accept or decline the role. No data is stored until the role has been accepted. Once they accept, they will then have access to their own dashboard.

When Do Safe People Get Notified?
Your safe people will be notified:
a) 30 mins after the your final, unanswered Morning Coucou reminder (see Set Coucou Times) .
b) if you register a ‘Lonely’ or ‘Black Hole’ mood on the Afternoon Coucou.
c) if you activate the SOS button.

Key Access (in the App Menu)
The Couee must register their current address along with contact details for the landlord, property manager, etc in case of an emergency. Access to this information (which will be 'unlocked' on the Safe Persons dashboard) is only given if you do not respond to the Morning Coucou within 30 minutes of the last reminder or after activating the SOS button.
Set Coucou Times (in the App Menu)
You can change the time for your Morning and Afternoon Coucous at any time.
Keep in mind that the Morning Coucou is not an alarm as such, and two reminders will be sent to you at one hour intervals until it is activated, just in case you do sleep in!

Do Not Disturb (in the App Menu)
Going on holiday? Or just want a break? You can turn off your Coucou notifications at any time. If you are on a paid plan, this will halt your subscription too.
SOS Button
The SOS button sends a text to your Safe People to get in touch with you ASAP. So if you find yourself in an emergency or need help straight away then this is the button!
